Her career includes extensive classroom experience with autistic children. She has served on the board of directors (managing the creation of content programming) of the Hollingworth Center for Highly Gifted Children. Patti also advocated for her three children -- a highly gifted dyslexic son, and identical twin daughters who were also highly gifted. Each benefitted from a period of homeschooling. She also met the extreme demands of advocating for her terminally ill daughter over ten months of hospitalization. All these experiences have been instrumental in developing a ca! pacity and commitment to navigate throughout the special needs arena.
