Practice Areas: Special Education law requires that a parent, relative, or Educational Surrogate Parent have the opportunity to be involved in the education of children with disabilities and be treated as an important part of the special education process. Legal Aid Center staff provides advice, training, advocacy, and legal representation in area of Special Education to those involved in the education of children with disabilities. Legal Aid Center also provides training and support to volunteers who are willing to become Educational Surrogate Parents for children with disabilities, ensuring that their schools are meeting their disability-related needs.
